    2 Long, 2 Short Beeps

    My PC has started to give 2 Long, 2 Short Beeps upon boot up. I removed all drives, cards, and memory and I still get those beeps in that order.
    I can find nothing on the Net on these beeps.
    Any ideas?

      Nothing of that beep code exist,but when 2 beeps are heard then it could be that you have a memory problem,check each module one at a time,to troubleshoot

      The power has cycled because the temprature is too hot. The processor fan is not installed, or is not spinning

      What computer model do you have? Who made it? What part number? Is the motherboard in it the one it came with, or a replacement?
      We need to know what make/model to find the beep code reference.

        IBM Aptiva. Exact numbers I have to pull out again, but believe me, I spent 3 hours searching their site, the web, and customer support to no avail.

      We already found out last night that it is the MB. Pulled everything we could form it. Swapped memory, video, even processors with same type of PC my cousin has. The bloody thing will not stop beeping.
      All those other components work in another PC. So if this Aptiva’s stuff works in another PC, and the remaining item is the MB, then, well…. we already sent it to the recycling people.
