I am putting in this info git config –global user name “my NAME”
git config –global user email “my EMAIL” and getting this error key does not contain a sectain: user so what do I do

I started with https://www.google.com/search?&q=git+for+Chromebook
and it looks like what you wrote is the tip of the iceberg as to what one would have to do.

As I see fine priors and tutorials I’m going to pause here.

https://www.google.com/search?q=%22key+does+not+contain+a+section%22 makes me think you made a mistake while editing the file by removing a section indicator.
Back to the original and try again.

By default,chrome devices auto-update to the latest version of Chrome when it’s available. In your Google Admin console, make sure that Device updates are set to Allow updates.
